Prime Minster Taro Aso announced an election for the national parliament, after this Sunday’s local Tokyo election saw the opposition party stride to the majority. His approval rating, hitting as low as twenty percent, has him all but being ousted.
Aso’s the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, which has controlled the government since the war, except for a period of under one year.
Gee, I hope this doesn’t bring back out the loudspeaker vans.
