Quarter Century

Happy Birthday to me.  I’m happy to be biking to the two schools close enough to get to without incapacitating myself for the rest of the day.

Today was much like any other except that I had just one class at the junior high school, I ate in the staff room instead of with students and got away with tossing some of the excessive food, and I actually took a walk around the school grounds with the newly transferred in Japanese Teacher of English (JTE).  She’s a bit older than my last JTE but she’s cool and confident, though I really liked the previous one too!

As for celebrations, I am not doing anything particularly special tonight in lieu of saving it for when I’m soon safely over in Bali for my precious two week holiday.  I did finally enjoy the prepackaged Thai Tom Yum soup from the off-island Muji chain store that also sells the lovely green curry sets I’ve been making a lot of lately.

So I’ve finally hit “the big” twenty-five, but officially I think I might just refer to myself as 22 for the next five years or so.

  2. I totally know how you feel about turning 25! I’m 24 and my birthday is coming up in August. Hopefully I’ll be in the JET program next year too :)
